Gifts for Him

He says ‘nothing’; the mantelpiece says otherwise. Wrenfold's £2.95–£49.95 range includes an Incense Starter Kit, mango-wood bowl and dragon or waterfall backflow burners.

The parcel arrives plain and unmarked, with the price left out. It leaves Yorkshire in 1–2 days; mainland UK delivery costs £3.95 unless the order is over £30.

Choosing one

This shelf is short on purpose, and it is mostly incense — backflow burners, cones and holders, from £1.95 to £34.95. We would rather show nine things that suit someone than pad the page with novelty.

The plain Zen Flow burner at £8.95 is the sensible first one; the Dragon Waterfall at £30.95 is the one that stops a conversation. Burners and cones are sold separately almost everywhere, which catches people out — the starter kit at £16.95 solves that in one box.

If none of it fits, gifts under £30 and Scent & Flame are the wider shelves either side of this one. And if you want to know why the smoke falls downwards before you buy one, that is written up here.

Scent is the easier route here: Scent & Flame holds the candles, melts and diffusers. If the budget matters more than the category, gifts under £30 is where most of the shelf sits.

The heavier end of the scent range — wood, resin and smoke — is on palo santo and smudge and backflow and incense cones.

Questions we get asked

What can I buy for a man who says he wants nothing?

His empty mantelpiece is more helpful than his answer. Wrenfold's range includes an Incense Starter Kit, a mango-wood bowl and sculpted backflow burners from £2.95.

Are the incense gifts ready to give?

Wrapping is usually the forgotten part of buying late. Every order arrives in a plain, unmarked parcel without prices inside and is dispatched from Yorkshire in 1–2 days. The incense burners page gives the designs their own shelf.

What do you stand a backflow burner on?

Anything heatproof — a tile, a saucer, a proper mat. The foam pad some burners are packed on looks like a coaster and is not one, which catches out more people than anything else here. More on holders and what they have to survive.

Is there anything here under £15?

Three things: Spiritual Guide incense sticks at £2.95, the mango-wood Tree of Life bowl at £13.95 and the Zen Flow backflow burner at £14.95. The burners run up to £44.95 from there.
