Thank You Gifts

She fed your cat for a fortnight. A text will not quite cover it. Wrenfold's thank-you shelf runs from £3.95 to £29.95, with Yorkshire Violet Bath Dust, a soap carnation and Golden Glow wax melts.

The parcel is plain and unmarked and carries no prices inside. Yorkshire dispatch takes 1–2 days; mainland UK delivery is free above £30, with £3.95 postage otherwise.

Choosing one

Match the size of the gift to the size of the favour, or it reads oddly. For a small specific kindness — a lift to the airport, a fortnight of cat feeding — something under a tenner is right: a single soap stem at £2.95, a wax melt bar at £3.95, or whipped soap at £6.95.

For something that took real time out of someone's week, the Home Spa Set at £21.95 is the top of this shelf and looks like a decision rather than a token.

The thing that makes a thank you land is that it arrives without being asked for. Ours go out with no prices inside, so nobody is doing arithmetic while they open it. Soap flowers are the ones that are still there in a year, provided they stay out of the bathroom. The card is the part they keep, so it is worth forty considered words: what to write.

When flowers would be the obvious answer, soap flower bouquets do the same job and are still there in a year. If the thank you is small and specific, gifts under £20 is the shelf to start on.

For a thank you that gets used rather than displayed, journals and notebooks start at £9.95, and palo santo and smudge holds the small things people add on.

Questions we get asked

What is a nice thank you present?

The nicest answer should match the size of the favour. A soap flower carnation, Home Spa Set or 50g wax melt bar sits within Wrenfold's £3.95–£29.95 range.

What is a good gift to show appreciation?

A fortnight of cat care deserves something more visible than a message. Yorkshire Violet Bath Dust, a 50g wax melt bar or 120g whipped soap makes a tidy boxed parcel.

What are some good thank you gifts?

Small favours and large ones do not need the same parcel. Wrenfold offers bath pieces, soap flowers and wax melts from £3.95 to £29.95, while the gifts under £20 page covers a firmer limit.

What is the 5 gift rule?

A sprawling list can make a simple thank you feel overdone. The 5 gift rule uses five prompts to hold a list in shape, though the prompts vary; this shelf keeps the choice to one boxed parcel.
