Gifts Under £20

Secret Santa has set a £20 ceiling. The Wrenfold shelf starts at £1.99 and tops out at £19.95, with 50g wax melts, 120g whipped soap and a mango-wood incense bowl.

The small price stays out of it: every order goes out in a plain, unmarked parcel with no prices inside. We send from Yorkshire in 1–2 days; mainland UK delivery is £3.95, or free when the basket goes over £30.

Choosing one

One rule saves money here. Delivery is £3.95 below £30 and free above it, so two £14 gifts posted separately cost £35.90, while the same two in one parcel cost £28. If you are buying for more than one person, put them in a single basket.

For Secret Santa the useful move is something that looks finished rather than something that looks cheap — a boxed item beats a loose one when it is opened in front of a room. Wax melts and incense are the two categories that stay well under twenty and still arrive looking deliberate.

The smallest things, most of them under a fiver, live in Little Extras and are designed to finish a box off rather than to be the box.

The same maths makes this the stocking fillers shelf in December. Everything here is small enough to go in a stocking and finished enough not to look like a filler — Nag Champa incense at £1.99, a 50g wax melt bar at £3.95 and a single soap flower stem at £2.95 are the three that go in most often.

Little Extras is where the smallest things live, most of them under a fiver, and they post in the same box. Incense and burners is the other shelf that stays well under twenty, and gifts under £30 opens it up if the budget stretches. If you are counting gifts rather than choosing them, the five gift rule is the version worth keeping and the version worth dropping.

Most of crystal jewellery sits under this line, and so does the smaller half of new in.

Questions we get asked

What are some useful Secret Santa gifts?

Office drawers already hold enough novelty clutter. A 50g wax melt bar, 120g whipped soap or mango-wood incense bowl gives the present a place to go after the exchange.

What are good Secret Santa gifts?

A fixed budget works best when the present still looks deliberate. Wrenfold's £1.99–£19.95 range includes incense, bath dust, soap flowers and a box of 8 wax melts.

What is the best gift to give for Secret Santa?

The best answer survives the journey back from the office party. A 100g bath bomb, 15g incense pack or single soap carnation arrives with its price nowhere in the parcel. The gifts under £30 page covers the roomier budget.

What is the 7 gift rule for Christmas?

Christmas lists can expand faster than the budget. The 7 gift rule uses seven prompts to limit the list, though the prompts vary; for Secret Santa, this page keeps every item at £19.95 or less.
